Hand-made Ethiopian cross, 19th century. The arms are triangular with central projections on each arm, flowing into a handle in the form of an elongated rectangle topped by a rectangular plaque with a central lower projection. Decoration on both sides. Side A: Center has a small equal-armed cross with widening arms enclosed in a square decorative frame; triangles marked with double engraved lines appear on each side of the frame. The fields of the arms show schematic representations of four winged cherubim/seraph heads. The upper arm projection is decorated with a horizontal zigzag stripe and a cross. The handle has a zigzag stripe. The tablet features an Ethiopian inscription with a rectangle marked by a double line below it. Side B: Center has a small cross composed of five rectangles, from which four rhombuses filled with a quatrefoil motif emerge. The upper arm shows a schematic winged head cherub/seraph. The handle is undecorated. The tablet is decorated with a rectangular frame. Material: metal; Function: cross. Dimensions: height 30.5 cm, width 11.5 cm., A carved wooden object with a dark brown patina shaped like a cross with an elongated handle, featuring carved geometric and angular patterns across its surfaces; the top and arms flare into triangular forms with incised linear and zigzag motifs, and a few lighter brown worn areas show through the darker finish; the long central shaft displays a repeating carved pattern and leads to a rectangular block at the bottom also incised with geometric designs, all set against a light gray background.
