Fragment of a large plate or platter of Egyptian Red Slip Ware B type. Made of Nile clay type B, compact with visible particles of gold mica; fracture with a dark sandwich core red, red-brown, dark gray 2.5YR5/6–2.5YR4/4–5YR4/1–2.5YR4/4–2.5YR5/6. Surface covered with a matte engobe outer red-yellow 5YR6/6; inner pink 5YR7/4, with an additional red-black floral motif plant tendril painted on the inside. 6th–7th century. From Tell Atrib. Vessel; height 12 cm, width 14 cm, thickness 8 mm., A broken pottery shard with a light brown clay surface and painted black and red decorative motifs, showing a curved band in red bordered by black, a few radiating black feather-like or fan-like strokes on either side, a section of a thicker black curved line, and some worn and chipped edges exposing the inner clay; background is a solid gray.
