Fragment of a conical bowl or possibly a large funnel, tabletop or kitchen vessel. Made in an Egyptian workshop of type B Nile clay, compact with slight organic admixture and particles of golden mica. Fracture shows a dusty pink and dark grey core 7.5R5/4–10YR4/1–7.5R5/4. Outer surface finished with pink-tinged whitewash 5YR8/3; inner surface unfinished light reddish-brown, 2.5YR6/3. Straight spout with a rounded edge. Outer surface below the rim decorated with vertical incised bands made with a stick or reed, the incisions converging toward the bottom. Likely reused, as two side fractures are covered with a thin layer of gypsum mortar and a similar substance is present on the inner surface near one fracture. 7th–8th century, Tell Atrib. Vessel: height 14.7 cm, width 13.1 cm, wall thickness 8 mm, rim diameter 21 cm., A broken fragment of a rounded ceramic object with curved ridges and an uneven edge sits against a flat gray background; the fragment shows a worn, earthy surface with shades of pink, terracotta, beige, cream, and small patches of white and pale orange, and its texture appears rough with chips and eroded areas.
