Fragment of a utility vessel Utility Ware. Made of type C Nile clay, highly porous with organic admixtures such as chaff and gold mica flakes. Thick fracture, dark gray Unworked surface exterior and interior brown, Engraved and plastic decoration, hand-applied. A horizontal half-cylinder, plastically modeled with recesses made with fingers or a round tool, separates the upper from the lower part. At the top is a row of parallel recesses additionally decorated with a knurl. In the lower section are two partially preserved finger-shaped arcades made of glued-on clay rolls; a knob made from a clay disc is glued under one arcade. Wavy engraved lines run along the arcades. Above the arcades is a horizontal row of diagonal recesses—remains of the imprint of the rope used to tie the vessel during drying. 6th–7th century, Tell Atrib; vessel, height 14 cm, width 11 cm, thickness 2 cm., A fragment of a textured, irregularly shaped object with earthy reddish-brown and darker gray areas, showing a carved or molded surface with a row of vertical ridges along the top and a horizontal band beneath them, and lower sections displaying rounded protrusions and shallow incised lines forming leaf-like shapes; the background is a flat muted gray.
