In 1940 the building of the municipality pharmacy on the Hoogstraat was destroyed during the bombing. Only several jacks have been saved from the rubble according to the sources. In 1941 new pharmacy was involved in the Building for Public Health on the Baan (and later on Schiedamsedijk). Around 1993, the institution was privatized
