In this scene from the biblical book of Exodus, Moses and Aaron (upper right) visit the pharaoh, who is mourning his son. The son of the ruler succumbed to the tenth plague: "The death of the first-born", one of the punishments that God inflicted on Egypt by requiring Pharaoh to let the Hebrews go, whom he kept in slavery.
