Robert Boyle (1627-1691). Irish chemist and physicist. He improved Otto von Guericke's pneumatic machine and was a precursor to the atomic theory. He consecrated a large amount of money to research advancement by opening what is today the Royal Society. He was also dedicated to working for the expansion of the Christian faith.
