On May 27, 1919, on the steps of President Wilson's residence in Paris, 11, place des Etats-Unis (16th arrondissement), the members of the Council of Four leaving the meeting. From left to right, Sir Lloyd George, Italian Prime Minister Vittorio Emanuele Orlando, Georges Clemenceau and US President Thomas Woodrow Wilson. The Council of Four will hold 145 working sessions, between 24 March 1919 and 28 June 1919, within the framework of the Peace Conference, opened by the Council of Ten on 13 January 1919 for the preparation of the Treaty of Versailles.
