Looking Out - painted by F. W. Topham - from the Exhibition of the Society of Painters in Water Colours, 1856. Engraving after a painting '...from the pencil of that favourite with the public, Mr. F. W. Topham...The action of the dog is admirable, and the whole incident is told most unmistakenly'. Note man in cave using alembic to distill Scotch whisky as woman and boy stand guard.
