The Music-Hall to be erected in "The Surrey Zoological Gardens", [London], 1856. 'It is proposed to lay out the ground under the superintendence of an eminent landscape surveyor, after the most approved fashion; terraces, aviaries, fountains - every variety of flowering plants; buildings for the display of unique and interesting exhibitions; and a grand pictorial design by Danson, will be prominent novelties. In the new Hall vocal and instrumental music of the highest class will be performed, The auditory will be capable of accommodating 10,000 persons...whilst a noble terrace, surrounding the building, will enable promenaders to enjoy the music in fine weather...The building has been already commenced, from the designs of Mr. Horace Jones, the eminent architect...'.
