Turkish glazed ceramic designs, (1898). 'Architectural Ornament in Faïence - Figs 1,2 5, 6, 7 and 9: From the Mosque of Yéchil-Djami at Brussa [The Green Mosque, also known as the Mosque of Sultan Mehmed I, Bursa, Turkey]. Figs 3, 4 and 8: From the Yéchil-Turbey-Tomb of Sultan Mohammed I [The Green Tomb or Yesil Türbe, the mausoleum of Mehmed I, Bursa]. Figs 10 and 11: From the Tomb Mourahdieh [The Muradiye Complex or the Complex of Sultan Murad II, Bursa]...in the ornament of the Islamitic nations, the Persian floral element always bursts forth afresh and in comparative pureness. Altogether it is to be noted, that numerous productions of Persian art, especially painted clay plates etc., were imported and used by the Turks'.
