Portrait of British electrical engineer and author Silvanus Phillips Thompson (1851-1916) who was a professor of physics at the City and Guilds Technical College in Finsbury, London. Thompson's most enduring publication is his "Calculus Made Easy", [1910], which has remained in print. From "Science and Art: A Journal for Teachers and Students". [1887]
