The writing script on these tablets is called the "regular script" using straight and smooth strokes; the object?s legal nature requires great clarity and accuracy. The writing contains information ranging from Yi?s personality to his political achievements. The first tablet introduces his illustrated family lineage including a number of famous ancestors.
