'Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost', 19th century. Biblical scene, Acts 5: 10: 'Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.' Ananias and his wife Sapphira die suddenly after lying to the Holy Spirit about money. Sapphira is convicted by St Peter and falls dead at the feet of the apostles.
