Soviet politician Andrei Zhdanov and Russian author Maxim Gorky, 1934. Zhdanov (1896-1948) and Gorky (1868-1936) attending the First Congress of Soviet Writers. Zhdanov was a strong supporter of the Socialist Realism movement in Soviet arts. Gorky was one of its pioneers in litaerature. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
