Princess Dagmar of Denmark and Grand Duke Alexander Alexandrovich of Russia, 1866. The future Tsar Alexander III (1845-1894) married Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928), formerly known as Dagmar of Denmark, the younger sister of Alexandra, Queen Consort of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom, in 1866. Alexander became Tsar in 1881 after the assassination of his father, Alexander II. A print from the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
