Caption

Murder of Prince Edward after his capture by King Edward IV, 1471 (1864). Edward of Westminster (1453-1471), Prince of Wales, the son of the Lancastrian King Henry VI (1421-1471), was killed at the Battle of Tewkesbury. Historians are divided over whether he was killed in battle or murdered afterwards. On the right of King Edward (1442-1483) is Richard (1452-1485), Duke of Gloucester. Immediately behind him is Lord Hastings (1430-1483) and on his left the Duke of Clarence (1449-1478).
