Church and Hospital of Paula for women was erected in 1664 in the times of Bishop Juan Zaenz de Manorca, who was an Inquisitor in Mexico and inspired terror in the people for his extreme severity. The Hospital was built, thanks to the donation of the priest Don Nicolas Estevez Borges.
