Harvard University campus map, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, late 19th or early 20th century. Founded in 1636, Harvard University is named after its first major donor, John Harvard, a clergyman and graduate of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, who bequeathed several hundred pounds and a collection of books which formed the basis of the university's library. A statue of him stands in Harvard Yard. Lantern slide.
