Han green lead glaze circular hu vase, Han dynasty, China, 202 BC-220 AD. A green lead glaze circular hu vase with fine taotie masks and ring moulded and fixed to body. There are two sets of three bands; one round the bottom of the neck and one set round the thickest part. The top has a dish shaped mouth showing the reddish body where there are four spur marks. The exterior, base and lip are covered by a fine, cracked, dark green lead glaze. The interior of part of the mouth is glazed with a brown lead glaze.
