Silvered bronze covered box with peony and angular key-fret, Late Tang-Northern Song dynasty, China, 10th-11th century. A small circular silvered bronze box decorated with an open peony flower spray with leaves. The decoration appears on a circular ring-punched ground, with a band of angular key fret surrounding the medallion. The base section has a band of narrow incised pointed petals around the foot ring with incised highlights on a plain background.
