The Wellington Arch and Apsley House, Hyde Park Corner, London, 2009. View of the floodlit arch with Apsley House in the background. The triumphal arch was commissioned by King George IV to commemorate Britain's victories in the Napoleonic Wars. It was designed by Decimus Burton and was completed in 1830. Also known as 'No 1, London', Apsley House was the London home of the Duke of Wellington.
