Caption

Will it Burst?, 1880. A gun labelled the 'Conservative Administration' is being loaded with shells representing the Conservatives foreign affairs - South Africa, Cyprus, Asia and Afghanistan. The Conservative Prime Minister, Lord Beaconsfield, oversees the operation. This relates to the Queen's Speech at the opening of the 7th, and final, Session of the Parliament of 1874. These were the non-domestic issues highlighted in the Speech. From Punch, or the London Charivari, February 14, 1880.
