The west front of Somerset House, Lancaster Place, London. A line of horse and carts pass in front of it. The building was built to the designs of Sir William Chambers, and was intended to house public offices, the Navy Board, the Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal Society, and the Society of Antiquaries. The foundations were laid in 1776, and completed by 1780.
