Blanche de Castille, (born on the 4th March 1188 in Palencia, Spain - died on the 27th November 1252, Melun), Queen of France, was the daughter of Alfonso VIII of Castille and Eleanor of England, herself the daughter of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry II Plantagenet, King of England. She was married in 1200 to the future Louis VIII, son of Philip-Augustus. 19th Century engraving.
