Chartres. The Chartres Cathedral. Western side of the Cathedral (12th, 13th, 14th Centuries). The Virgin Mary and Christ. This statue is probably that which is mentioned in the cartulary of Notre Dame of Chartres and which was provided by the archdeacon Richer, who died around 1150.
