The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel

Caption

The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is a commemorative archway located in the 1st arrondissement in Paris, in the Place du Carrousel, just to the west of the Louvre. Built in dedication to the Great Army of Napoleon Bonaparte between 1807 and 1809, the monument is situated in front of the Palace, on the promenade leading up to a wing of the Tuileries (before it burned down in 1871). In commemoration of the french army's victory in Austerlitz, the Arc de Triomphe, designed by Charles Percier and Pierre-François-Léonard Fontaine, exemplifies the campaign on 1805 and the fall of the city of Ulm in 1807.
