Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus (Thérèse Martin) (Alençon, 1873 Lisieux, 1897), french nun. At 15 years old she entered into the Carmel de Lisieux, where she lived a life of extreme simplicity, in following the "small way". Under the instruction of her superior to do so, she was instructed to write an autobiography written in a narrative style, "The Story of a Soul" (1897). She was canonized in 1925.
