The Grand Trianon in the Palace of Versailles. The "Ice Room" (the "Salon des Glaces"). The Great Room of Louis XIV's second apartment, before accomodating the Grand Dauphin. This "Councillors' Room" ("Salle du Conseil"), belonging to Louis XIV, from which one has a view over the Grand Canal, has held on to its' cornice as well as the design of its' wooden panels and windows embedded into its' garland, dating back to the period between 1687-1689. Refurbished in 1706, the room became the "Great Chamber" ("Grand Cabinet") of Madame Mère, then became the Study Room of Empress Marie-Louise. Louis-Philippe restored power to himself in the room under its' status as the "Councillor's Room".
