Palace of Versailles.

Caption

The Grand Trianon in the Palace of Versailles. The Round Room. The lobby of Louis XIV's first apartment. Furnished in a minimalist style, decorated with 8 columns in their original form, Jacques-Ange Gabriel would go on to refurnish the room in 1750, and become the King's First Architect (the "Premier Architecte du Roi"). The drum to the right would become the location of an altar, allowing for the conversion of the room into a chapel. This room became the "Guard's room", before becoming the "Baliff's room" under Louis-Philippe.
