Caption

The Grand Trianon in the Palace of Versailles. The Empress's Bedroom. The bedroom was also shared by Louis XIV, as well as of the Grand Dauphin, Louis of France. The room was constructed in 1691, to make room for four small sideboards, in the room belonging to Louis XIV and then to the Grand Dauphin. Eventually divided up to form a smaller bedroom and a living room, it would come to belong to Madame Mère in 1805, then to the Empress Marie-Louise, and finally to Queen Marie-Amélie.
