Palace of Versailles. The "Petit Trianon". Located south-west of the "Grand Trianon", the "Petit Trianon" was built in the 18th Century. First of all, Louis XV built a menagerie, a garden and a botanical school, along with a greenhouse. Louis XVI offered the Petit Trianon as a gift to his wife Marie-Antoinette. In the 19th Century, the Empress Eugénie brought together a collection of objects which had belonged to Marie-Antoinette. Entrance gate.
