The Louvre in Paris. The Courtyard of the Louvre. Statue of Jules Hardouin-Mansart (1646, Paris 1708, Marly-le-Roi), french architecture. The statue was constructed by Libéral Bruant. After having drawn up the plans for the design of Clagny Castle, to be built for Madame de Montespan, he won the respect of Louis XIV. He became the King's First Architect in 1681 and superintendent of the Buildings of the King in 1699.
