Gent, in Belgium. Up until the 16th Century, the Cathedral had taken its' name from Saint John. As of this date, the abbey chapter of Saint Bavon transfered there and thereafter the Church took the name of Saint Bavon. In 1561, the diocese of Gent was created and Saint Bavon became the name of the Cathedral. Detail of the door.
