Castelnaud Castle is a medieval fortresse in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle in Dordogne. It stands opposite the Beynac Castle, its' rival during the 100 years war. The oldest records mentioning the Castle date back to as far as the 13th Century. It played a role during the Crusades, standing against the Cathars and played a further role during the 100 years war. This photo shows a well in the interior courtyard.
