Carved stone serving both as a keystone and as a basket for the window sill above, decorated with the number XVI, as the building was originally situated at no. 16 Rue de la Villette.
Date of construction: 1894-1898
Architect: Hector Guimard
Art Nouveau building awarded a prize in 1898 at the first Concours de façades de la Ville de Paris.
