Erbario di Trento (Manoscritto n° 1591), XVI secolo, carta 22 verso: “Lingua Cornena”.
“Si esset aliquis schotatus in ygne vel in agua,
accipe folia istius herbe cum vino cocto et po-
ne super schotaduram: subito sanabitur. Item
si quis esset in tropicus, acipe radicem ystius
herbe et fac pulverem et da ey bibere cum
brodio piçoli cocti et bibat de ista per spa-
cium triginta dierum et sanabitur. Item ad sa-
nandum chostam fractam in corpore, accipe
radicem istius herbe et da ey bibere cum vino:
facit desinflare costam et sanare. Item ad sa-
nam malum splenis, acce folia istius herbe et
fac pulverem et da ey bibere cum bono vino
jeiuno stomaco per spacium quindecim die-
rum: sanabitur et est probatum.
Nasscitur in terenis salvaticis et in obschuris
ubi sol nunquam lucet.”
La traduzione è “Se qualcuno si fosse scottato sul fuoco, prendi le foglie di quest’erba con vino cotto e mettile sulla scottatura: subito guarirà. Se qualcuno fosse affetto da idropisia, prendi la radice di quest’erba, polverizzala e dagliela da bere con brodo di ceci cotti: quelle ne beva per tutti i giorni e guarirà. Inoltre per sanare una costola rotta, prendi la radice di quest’erba e dagliela da bere con vino: fa sgonfiare la costola e la guarisce. Inoltre per guarire il male di milza, prendi le foglie di quest’erba e polverizzale e dagliele da bere con buon vino a stomaco digiuno per quindici giorni: guarirà ed è cosa provata. Nasce nei terreni incolti ed ombrosi, dove non batte mai il sole.”

If someone is burned by fire, take the leaves of this herb with mulled wine and place them on the burn: they will be healed immediately. If someone is suffering from dropsy, take the root of this herb, grind it, and give it to him to drink with a broth of cooked chickpeas: let him drink that every day and he will be healed. Also, to heal a broken rib, take the root of this herb and give it to him to drink with wine: it reduces the swelling of the rib and heals it. Also, to cure a problem of the spleen, take the leaves of this herb, grind them, and give them to drink with good wine on an empty stomach for fifteen days: he will be healed, and this is proven. It grows in uncultivated and shady lands, where the sun never shines.”
