On the right, in a landscape characterized by the presence of buildings, an angel flies to Joseph to speak to him in a dream. On the far right, in the lower part, two doves in a garden drink from a fountain resting on flowering clods that represent the land of Egypt. On the two sandstone panels placed above the other two, a frame with five hanging arches is sculpted and under the central one – above the heads of the Madonna and Joseph – a disk in the shape of a millstone symbolizes the star that showed the way to the Magi. On the arches, the following inscriptions are engraved in capital letters: CASPAR . BALTA SAR . MELCHIOR MARIA . IHVS...
