Fidenza, duomo (Cathedral of San Donnino), sculptures between the main portal and the left one near the niche with the “King David” by Benedetto Antelami.
Detail of the presentation of Jesus at the temple of Jerusalem as established by the law of Moses on the firstborn (Lk 2,22-38); it is represented under a building, delimited by two columns with capitals that support a triple arch surmounted by domes and towers, where Mary offers the Child Jesus to the priest Simeon, who, receiving him, thanks God. On the right, outside the building, a woman holds in her hand the two turtledoves that, as established by Jewish law, were offered as a sacrifice on that occasion.
Above the niche is engraved the following inscription in capital letters: DANSBLANDU MURMU[RDATURP]ROMUN[E]RETUR[TUR] / SUSCIPITOBLATU SYMEONDEVIRGINENATUM (Dans blandum murmur datur pro munere turtur. / Suscipit oblatum Simeon de Virgine natum).
