the Archangel Gabriel, three-quarters to the left, has an object in his right hand and blesses with his left; above is the inscription GABRIHEL (Gabriel = Gabriel). The Madonna is seated, dressed in a surplice over her tunic and with a veil on her head; in her right hand she has a sphere (perhaps a ball of thread) and in her left hand she holds two spindles in her lap; above is the inscription SCAMARIA (Sancta Maria = Holy Mary).
