Fidenza, Duomo (St. Donnino Cathedral), the facade, tympanum of the right portal: “figure of a Bishop”. The figure is seated on a faldstool, dressed in a cassock, surplice and chasuble, with a mitre and pastoral staff. Traditionally, the figure has been identified as the Archpriest of the church of S. Donnino, but the pallium reserved since the Middle Ages for metropolitan archbishops and primates casts doubt on this interpretation. Work by Benedetto Antelami and workshop.
