Genova, Duomo (Cattedrale di S. Lorenzo), Cappella di San Giovanni Battista:
"Arca delle reliquie di San Giovanni Battista"(1217/1225 ca.) del Maestro dell’Arca del Battista (Francia, prima metà sec. XIII). Vi sono raffigurate: Il Battesimo di Gesù, Erodiade che riceve la testa del Battista,la danza di Salomé.
L’urna ha la forma di un edificio religioso ed è concepito in modo da poter essere sollevato per permettere la visione del reliquiario d’argento visibile dal foro centrale a quadrifoglio. Tale reliquiario si ritiene che contenesse le ceneri del Santo, portate a Genova nel 1098.

Genoa, Duomo (St. Lawrence Cathedral),St. St. John the Baptist Chapel:
"The Ark of the relics of St. St. John the Baptist" (ca. 1217/1225) by the Master of the Ark of the Baptist (France, first half of the 13th century). There are shown: The Baptism of Jesus, Herodias receiving the head of St. John the Baptist, the dance of Salome.
The Ark has the form of a religious building and is designed so that it can be raised to allow the vision of the silver shrine visible from the central hole. This shrine is believed to contain the ashes of the saint, brought to Genoa in 1098.
