The two American John H. Noble (l) and William Marchuk (r) smile at a press conference on the 11th of January in 1955 in West Berlin after their release from longtime Soviet imprisonment, from which they had been released shortly before.
US soldier Marchuk had left his troop without permission in 1949, Noble had been arrested at the end of World War II in Dresden, where his father ran the company "Camera workshops Charles A. Noble".
