The railway bridge of strategic importance from the beginning of the 20th century was destroyed several times in US air raids during Vietnam War.
The United States of America flew about 2,000 air attacks on cities and targets in North Vietnam during the "Christmas bombings" in 1972.
The peace agreement was signed on the 27th of January in 1973 in Paris.
