Parks and gardens in the Ruhr area. Nordsternpark is a landscape park on the site of the former Nordstern colliery in Gelsenkirchen. Following the closure of Nordstern colliery in 1993, the site was completely renovated and transformed into a landscape park. The Federal Garden Show was held in the park in 1997.
