Following the partial collapse of the Carola Bridge in Dresden on 11 September 2024, no ships to and from the Czech Republic were able to pass through the Elbe. As of today, freight shipping is once again able to pass through after prior notification of transport to the Waterways and Shipping Office. The Czech shipping company EVD took advantage of the clearance to finally be able to export goods from the Czech Republic by water again. The coupled convoy, consisting of the motor cargo vessel DICK and the pushed barge DICK 1, had been loaded with a 221-tonne generator and around 400 tonnes of fertiliser in the SBO subsidiary port of Lovosice, Dresden, Saxony, Germany
