As of today, the Caspar David Friedrich Trail in Saxon Switzerland can bear this title. The trail between Krippen and Schöna emerged from a public competition organised by the hiking magazine as the winner in the day tour category. This means that after a break of 18 years, the title has once again gone to Saxony. The last time the Malerweg Elbsandsteingebirge won in the multi-day tour category was in 2007. Johannes Gärtner, director and actor as Caspar David Friedrich, Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna, Saxony, Germany
