SUSKULT demonstration plant, hydroponic food production system in which the plants grow soilless using mineral nutrient solutions as part of indoor cultivation. SUSKULT obtains the required resources carbon dioxide, phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen as well as heat and water from a sewage treatment plant, in this case the Emschermündung sewage treatment plant. Together with the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT, the Emschergenossenschaft is treading a completely new path. In future, wastewater treatment plants will be places of agricultural production
