Today, solar cells are installed on the ore bunker, a skate park was built in the open space The first blast furnace was put into operation in 1875. There were six blast furnaces on the factory premises in Gelsenkirchen in which pig iron was produced. The remaining high-ore bunker, on whose roof a large photovoltaic system is installed, was used as a venue during the Ruhr Cultural Capital 2010 year, Gelsenkirchen, Germany
