Erich Kästner, German writer, poet, journalist and screenwriter. His most famous works include the children's books 'Emil and the Detectives, Pünktchen und Anton' and 'The Flying Classroom.' In contrast to many other opponents of the regime, Erich Kästner did not emigrate during the National Socialist period.
